Two hearts.
One journey.
Like many modern love stories, ours began with a match on a dating app. Manu first asked Aish out on the weekend of her 30th birthday. She already had plans. A week later, Aish reached out and suggested they meet. Neither knew they were about to have their last first date.
Manu chose Ophelia’s, a rooftop bar in New York City. Aish arrived a little early and accidentally took the wrong elevator. Manu was waiting in the lobby when the elevator doors opened and there she was. For him, it was love at first sight. For her, the immediate priority was pretending she had not just gotten lost.
Cocktails turned into hours of easy conversation. When Manu offered to drive Aish home, his “Bollywood Wedding” playlist came on at full volume. Instead of ending the night, they sang along and drove through the city under the moonlight, neither quite ready to say goodbye.
A little over a year later, Manu took Aish to the Finger Lakes. With the lake nearby and a castle as the backdrop, he surprised her with a proposal. Her answer was an easy yes. Now we cannot wait to celebrate our next chapter with the people we love most.
